COVENANT FELLOWSHIP LIFE GROUP OFFERINGS
Do join one our LIFE (Life Is For Everyone) Groups that happen throughout the week. Covenant Fellowship is about connecting everyone to a LIFE Group and then coming together on Sunday to have a Celebration Service praising God for all that He is doing in our lives and through our LIFE Groups.
The Fall Semester Life Groups will ALL be participating in the NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE, beginning September 20th. The NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE is a challenge to you, as you participate in a Life Group at Covenant, to read through the New Testament in its entirety. So, SIGN-UP and join the entire Covenant Fellowship Family on this spiritual adventure as we explore the New Testament together this Fall !!!! -------------------------Tuesdays------------------------------------------------------------ 6:oopm. Visionaries - Emmett Solomon and Dr. James Mathis will continue co-leading this group as they facilitate the NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE. This group meets at Dr. Mathis’ home at 3778 Summer Lane in Huntsville. Group is currently meeting; if interested you may join immediately. The New Testament Challenge kicks off September 21st. This group is senior adult focused, but is open to all. 20’s 30’s 40’s - Led by Scott Williams (936)355-0724. Group meets at the Williams’ home at 1929 Foxbriar in Elkins Lake. Group begins each Tuesday at 6pm with a fellowship meal, followed by Bible study and prayer time. Group make-up is primarily young couples and singles in their 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s. Children are welcome. Group will begin meeting for the NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE on September 21st and will end on December 7th. Circle of Friends – Led by Jana Carlson (936)661-3816. This is a “LADIES ONLY” group that meets at the home of Mike and Jana Carlson located at 400 Graham Road in Huntsville. A potluck fellowship meal is enjoyed by the group each week, followed by a Bible study and prayer time. Group will begin meeting September 21st at 6pm for the NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE and will end December 2nd. Child care is pending. Men’s Group – Led by Dr. Alvin Jones (936)435-0993. This is a “MEN’S ONLY” group that meets at the Covenant Fellowship church office at 1211 Financial Plaza. Group will begin meeting September 21st at 6pm for the NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE and will end December 2nd. 6:30pmOvercomers (Walker County) - Led by Bill Kleiber (936)291-2156. This group is comprised of men who are struggling or have struggled with addictions. The group meets weekly at the Recovery Center located at 1709 Hwy 30 in Huntsville at 6:30pm. CIA’s (Children In Action) - Led by Darren and Beth Jones (936)662-7531. This is a midweek Bible study opportunity for children in grades 1-6. The CIA’s will be participating in the NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE as we guide, direct, and disciple our children to immerse themselves in God’s word daily. This group begins meeting September 22nd at 6pm at the Covenant Fellowship office at 1211 Financial Plaza.
Covenant Youth - Led by Scott and Shannon Williams (936)355-0724. The Youth at Covenant are 7th through 12th grades. This group meets at the home of Scott and Shannon Williams in Elkins Lake at 1929 Foxbriar. Youth are provided a snack/meal each Wednesday night as we meet for a mid-week fellowship and Bible study time. The group is currently meeting and if interested you may join immediately. The Youth will begin the NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE September 22nd.
.Prayer Warriors for Christ - Led by Jerry and Judy Woods (936)295-9257. This group meets at 6pm at the home of Jerry and Judy Woods located at 201 Pine Valley in Huntsville. Pastor David Valentine leads this group as they focus on prayer for the Church and each other. Prayer Warriors will begin the NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE on September 22nd. Emphasis is also centered on what God is doing in people’s lives and what we must do to join Him as He moves. There are times of testimonies and praises as God’s power and presence is seen moving in the lives of His people. This group is currently meeting; if interested you may join immediately.
HimPerfection - Led by Buster & Phyllis McWhorter (936)714-6160. This group will meet at Rolling Brook Apartments, located at 620 Hickory Drive #1013 in Huntsville. Group will enjoy fellowship, pot luck dinner, and the NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE beginning September 22nd at 6pm. Childcare will not be provided. “I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.” (Philippians 3:12)
7:00pm College - Led by Jerry and Judy Phillips (936)661-3441. Group meets at the home of Jerry and Judy Phillips in Elkins Lake at 1439 River Oaks. This group is for any College student who desires a mid-week fellowship and Bible study opportunity with other College students. The group begins each Wednesday evening with a fellowship meal, then has a Bible study and prayer time. The College group will begin the NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE on September 22nd. 7:15pmYoung Couples for Christ - Group meets at the home of Pastor David Valentine (936)662-5784, located at 2548 West Greenbriar in Elkins Lake. The group is geared towards young couples/singles who have a desire for fun, fellowship, and Bible study. The night begins at 7:15pm with a taco supper every week followed by Bible study. Bring your children; they are welcome but supervised childcare will not be available. The NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE begins September 22nd. Under Construction – Formerly, “Common Thread”, this group meets at the Covenant Fellowship church office at 1211 Financial Plaza and is led by Jamie and Alicia Nash (936)661-8367. A potluck fellowship meal is enjoyed by the group each week, followed by a Bible study and prayer time. The group will be participating in the NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE beginning September 23rd at 6pm and ending December 9th. This group is very relaxed; you are encouraged to “come as you are”. Bring your children. Overcomers 2 (Montgomery County) -- Group designed to support individuals and families who have been affected by incarceration issues. Group meets at the Central Montgomery County Library located at 104 I-45 N. in Conroe at 6pm. Additional group assistance and facilitation will be provided by Pastor Craig Hearn [Burning Hope Ministries-(832)465-2541], and Ron Goodwin [The Recovery Center (936)714-2411]. Friday Fun Bunch – Led by Bradley Brock (936)293-8343. Group meets on Friday nights, beginning September 24th, at the home of Bradley and Shelby Brock at 43 Murphy Farm Rd. Join them on Friday nights and unwind from the week with Friends, Fellowship, and Fun. Each meeting will start off with dinner and fellowship to be followed by a time of Bible study and supporting one another through the exciting NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE. We all have crazy, busy lives and need each other’s support to make this very important challenge attainable. Children are welcome provided they are reasonably well behaved while unsupervised. Their son Braden will be there so he would enjoy the company.
We do love supporting our Hornets, so Friday's with Home football games, we will probably meet up at the game and have Bible study on Saturday afternoon/evening. We will work out the schedule as a group. Celebration - This group meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30am before the Celebration Service at Alpha Omega Academy in the Conference Room behind the Library. If you prefer the more traditional Sunday morning Bible study hour, this may be the group for you. The group will begin the NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE on September 19th. Fantasy Football - Led by League Commissioner Roger Morris (936)668-1596. This is a small group opportunity for those who love football !!!! Over a 12-week period the Covenant Fellowship Fantasy Football League allows players to manage aspects of a virtual football team and go head-to-head with other players in the league. There will be at least (2) coaches per team and a total of 12 teams, with each coach paying a $10.00 franchise fee. The Fantasy draft party is August 29th at the Holiday Inn Express in the Banquet room at 5pm. Each meeting will consist of a catered meal (all you can eat pizza, $6.00 at the door), Bible study, and watching the Sunday night football game. The group will meet weekly on Sunday evenings at the Holiday Inn Express banquet room beginning September 5th at 6:15pm.
